Artist Bio: As an artist, I use animal and plant fibers and natural pigments to make textile compositions. I want to radically understand the materials I deem healthy for land, animals, and people. The gratification from this highly considered process incorporates aspects that have given me moments of pause to honor seasons, community, and the human experience in this world. The resulting artwork imbues its origins and tells a story beyond immediate visual cues. My work intends to share the natural beauty that I see, using materials of the place I inhabit, and to educate in the name of conservation. You can find me weaving at Cove Studio and Gallery in Wheeler, Oregon.

Artist Statement about Piece: December Dive is a woven memory of my best friend and me snorkeling the Meso-American barrier reef last winter. I grew up swimming in the Gulf of Mexico's warm green, blue waters. This water embraces me like a mother every time we reunite. The woven grass symbolizes me floating but being held secure and buoyant in the beauty surrounding it.
