Artist Bio:.I have been working with handmade watercolor in various approaches for over 40 years. Showing in Galleries for most of the duration.

Artist Statement about Pieces: This approach to using indigo pigments was a natural! Ive always been attracted to the hues of indigo an dthe ongoing historical references.

Title of Piece 1: Quest

Materials Used:Acrylic, indigo pigment and board

Price: $175

Primary Techniques: Pastes of various thickness infused with acrylics.

Title of Pieces 2 & 3: Fostered Change I & II

Materials Used: absorbent ground gesso, indigo pigment on gessoed board

Price: $200 each

Primary Techniques: Various washes of indigo infused with absorbent ground gesso. Many thicknesses of indigo paste implemented.

Title of Piece 4: Subdued Light in Indigo

Materials Used: indigo pigments, watercolors on paper

Price: $200

Primary Techniques: overly wetted indigo village paper with slurry of indigo poured on then brushed. Granulation occurred naturally. Some titanium white watercolor used for lighter variations of color.

Title of Piece 5: Indigo Plains

Materials Used: Handmade paper, indigo pigment and water color

Price: $200

Primary Techniques: Made paste full strength, and added titanium white watercolor when lightening was necessary This piece has little watercolor here and there, and relied on the indigo powders to infuse teh wet handmade Indian village paper. Brushes were used.
