Dyeing the Red Tent, a Women's New Moon Craft Retreat

Queen Madder Red on Silk

Queen Madder Red on Silk

Taking time to gather for deep rest, renewal & reclaiming the color red.

The new moon this April brings a delicious opportunity to gather at the Beautiful NorthFork 53 Retreat Center for a deep dive into self care, natural dyeing, herbalism, and really good food, with other women.

The goodness of time and space for contemplation, in an intimate and cozy home with a sauna, is pretty much the best way I can think of to reset during the liminal space of spring.

This weekend retreat for women focuses on building a self care practice, using art & story to connect to self and nature.

The workshop is centered upon the long slow process of dyeing a red cloth using Queen Madder, an ancient plant dye who offers us many lessons. We will immerse ourselves in nurture culture, taking time to tend to our body, mind, and spirit in the company of other women. While our cloth absorbs the magic of healing herbs and turns deep red from Queen Madder herself, we will hold space for contemplation, creating new moon intentions, talking, movement, journaling, sauna and spending time in the beauty of the Oregon Coast.

For those who are interested pelvic steaming sessions led by practitioner Kestrel Gates will be knit into the schedule..

The Spring 2019 retreat takes place in Nehalem, on the Oregon Coast. Organic farm to table meals will be provided. Rooms are shared. Sign up with a friend and receive a small gift.

This retreat is open to women at all stages of life.
