INDIGO FLOWERS - PLANT SYMMETRY ON CLOTH

  • Sitka Center for Art & Ecology 56605 Sitka Drive Otis, OR, 97368 United States (map)

Indigo Flowers

Join Iris on the Oregon Coast for this one-day workshop for the indigo-curious. Explore patterns of flowers both real and imaginary. Using fold, clamp and shift techniques with a variety of clamp shapes students will be empowered to play like pollinators. Techniques practiced have wide use to create infinite radial designs with indigo. We will look at examples in nature and create several small samples and one larger piece. The basics of how an indigo vat works will be discussed. Students will be given a detailed packet that will contain information to help create future vats in their own studios and leave with a finished project.

Takes place at Sitka Center for Art & Ecology

Can be taken in tandem with the Moon in Indigo workshop the following day.
