Episode 4: Madder dyed Bandanas

The siren call of Queen Madder led to a collection of ten bandanas resist dyed with madder utilizing various folds and  clamps. Pretty much hacker itajime shibori.  The base cloth is my standard organic color grown gingham. Back when I was making slings I purchased about 150 yards of the stuff from a US mill that was closing at the time.

All in all a fun exercise. I used fancy stitching on the edges rather than a rolled hem. These ended up traveling all sorts of places. From the Mountains of Colorado to a Tibetan Bon Monk in Nepal. Natural Dyes are magic.
